The Agathis Fund is a financial support mechanism for members of the New Zealand tree climbing community. Joe Cooper and Troy Alderton of the Northland Tree Climbers Association established the fund in 2010. When the NTCA disbanded, the New Zealand Arboriculture Association undertook administration. $10 from each Agathis lanyard sold is contributed directly into the Agathis Fund for disbursement to kiwi tree climbers needing support in the event of a tree-related incident.
